Offers a Fractional Jet Seat Ownership PlanWe found an interesting take on fractional ownership that may be of some interest to charter jet travelers. MyJets, Inc. is offering fractional seat - not jet - ownership for fixed route business travelers commuting a short distance on a regular basis. They claim it is a cost-effective, time-saving, and more convenient alternative for commuter or corporate travelers to travel via their Socata Aircraft TBM 700 turboprop. How it Works
MyJets, Inc. believes their service offers the cost and frequency advantages of a commercial airline, while having the comfort, security, and speed advantages of a private air charter. Time is saved by not driving to the airport, parking, checking in, going through security, getting a rental car, and then driving to the destination. Cost There is a one-time fee of $40,000 per seat, which does seem pricey for a new company and a new business model. In addition, the price per flight is $150/hour of flying time per seat or $50 for a 20 minute flight. There is also a nominal monthly management fee. Comparison Shopping - Jet Cards Jet cards offer back up more restrictive travel options when guaranteed aircraft availability on short notice is needed. Delta AirElite's 10-hour card starts at $41,900. (To read more about Delta AirElite Business Jets' Fleet Membership program click here.) Delta AirElite also offers 25 and 50 hour cards. offers a 25-hour card beginning at $120,000. A promotional 10-hour card - valued at $50,000 - is currently being given away by Microsoft as the grand prize in their "I'm Going Places" sweepstakes. Is MyJets Right for You? MyJets seems to be catering to a niche market and looking for a very specific user - someone who wants the convenience of jet travel, has a limited budget, and does not mind who they share a jet with. If there are no regular commercial commuter flights at your nearby regional airport, this may be a more cost effective alternative to chartering a whole aircraft. And time savings? Yes, there's a lot of dead time going through a large airport or being cooped up in the airline's executive club. Many people take advantage of it by catching up on emails and phone calls, stretching their legs, or having a bite to eat. A good limo service and executive club status for quick check-in saves time and may be more cost effective than a $40,000 seat. Bottom line - MyJets is a new company with a new service. Ask for customer references and go over the numbers before you decide if this company fits your needs for corporate jet travel. Want to know more about charter jet travel or fractional jet ownership? New Company Provides Jet Rental Option By Bradley J. Fikes
You have probably heard of fractional jet ownership, in which several people or entities share the cost of owning a jet. A new concept is Fractional Seat Ownership, from MyJets Inc., headquartered in Marina del Rey, California.
As its name implies, Fractional Seat Ownership involves the right to make one round trip per week, or 100 hours flying time per seat owned.
MyJets will launch its service in August, targeting the Los Angeles/Silicon Valley commuting set. The flights will travel between Camarillo airport and Palo Alto, said Marcel R. Georgi, company President and Chief Executive Officer. Each seat owned costs $40,000, which is financed through MyJets at $250 per month. There is a management and maintenance monthly fee of $1,500 and a $300 fee for each round trip.
For these fees, passengers not only get a guaranteed seat, but leave out of a quieter airport, farther away from the congestion around LAX, skip the long security screening process, arrive closer to their Silicon Valley destination and have a car available to take them to their appointment. The company’s first aircraft, two Socata TBM 700s, will make the trip 3 times a day.
"The idea stems from my experience as a pilot." Georgi said. "I‘ve been flying charters and fractional ownership. The price of fractional ownership is very expensive, to give you the convenience. It’s less expensive for a charter, because you only pay for what you get, except if you don’t do the round trip or have to stay longer at a certain place, you have to pay for the plane to go back."
Georgi said the service will save time as well as money, pointing out that time is often more valuable for busy executives who don’t want to endure the many major and minor time-stealers involved in regular air travel. People who live north of Los Angeles, especially those an hour away from the city, will find the Camarillo-based service especially convenient, Georgi said. Camarillo airport is ideally situated to serve the many affluent residents who live nearby, Georgi added.
"From the time they go to LAX, go through the security and everything, when they arrive in Silicon Valley, it can take 6 hours to get to their office. There are no rental cars at the airport; even if you are a gold or platinum member of one of the agencies, you have to take the bus and go get the rental car, which wastes another 15 to 20 minutes."
By contrast, Georgi said MyJets would cut this commute by 70 percent to less than two hours door to door. "Before arriving in Palo Alto, the pilot calls the rental agency; the car is on the tarmac" Georgi said. "They get off the plane and jump in their car."
MyJets estimated that more than 30,000 people living in the Los Angeles basin commute weekly to Silicon Valley, providing a built-in market for this initial route.
Georgi estimates that 45 seat-owners per plane are needed for the service to make money. On a larger scale, MyJets hopes to build a nationwide network on this model of travel between small airports with small, low-cost planes. The routes will be determined by what the passengers—collective owners---want.

MyJets Introduces FSO Service by Arturo Weiss
MyJets , Inc. has developed a new air-transportation model called FSO (Fractional Seat Ownership), a new concept it claims redefines the future of private air travel. MyJets says its business model is unique and is focused on saving time for a busy executive who needs to travel weekly between two locations that are within 500 miles of each other without having to charter a whole aircraft, buy a fraction of a whole aircraft, or be forced to fly on a commercial carrier. The price per flight is comparable to an airline ticket, and the monthly fee for management and maintenance is easily justified by the time savings achieved. The system offers the executive who travels weekly to the same destination an inexpensive way to benefit from all the advantages of a private jet without the cost, by having the opportunity to buy a seat on an airplane that flies to that destination. The MyJets model has most of the cost and frequency advantages of the commercial airline, while having the comfort, security, and speed advantages of the private air-charter.
The target customer is the executive who does not live close to one of the 500 commercial airline airports and spends hours of wasted time driving to the airport, parking, checking in, going through security, getting a rental car, and then driving to the destination. MyJets Future Competition
The world seems to be waiting for the next generation of small business jets (VLJs) because they offer low purchase price, low cost of maintenance and operation, and high speed and security.
The Wall Street Journal in its article about the first roll-out of the prototype of the Eclipse jet, quoted:
“Imagine someday calling a taxicab in the shape of a tiny jet that seats six and can pick you up at your local municipal airport and deliver you to where you want to go for about the cost of an airline coach seat.” “The cost of operating it will be about 40% of the operating cost of today's cheapest business jet, the company says.”
Morgan Stanley aerospace analyst Heidi Wood says, it has "dynamite" potential and "could change the industry."
“The Eclipse, because of its lower purchase price and fuel mileage that is close to that of a sport-utility vehicle, could potentially open another tier of fractional ownership that would enable non-millionaires to enjoy private jet service. Eventually, they could even serve as air taxis that would cater to average travelers.”
A new era is coming they say….
Let’s look at MyJets TODAY:
The plane used by MyJets today: -Has a lower cost per seat as the Eclipse assumed costs. -Has a perfect security record. -Takes only 6 minutes longer to join Camarillo to Palo Alto, 2 cities 400 miles apart in California. -Offers substantially more space in a club-seating environment. -Induces you to work on a luxurious Mahogany table while providing abundant legroom.
The future revolution announced by the Wall Street Journal and other is already available. IT IS CALLED MYJETS.

MyJets
Launches Low-Cost Fractional Seat Ownership Program on set route.
The
company plans to operate a fleet of TBM 700 planes on some 50 domestic US
routes and over 50 European and South American routes. Socata is a French
company, part of EADS, the conglomerate that built the Concorde and now
the Ariane rocket and Airbus planes. To
kick off its sales and marketing effort, MyJets
Inc. launched its web site at www.MyJets.net
and is in negotiation with several Fortune 50 companies in Los Angeles and
the Silicon Valley. The
company claims its patent-pending business model is unique and is focused
on saving time for a busy executive who needs to travel weekly between two
locations that are within 500 miles of each other without having to
charter a whole aircraft, buy a fractional ownership of a whole aircraft
or be forced to fly on a commercial carrier. Material available on the web
site indicates a direct cost of $150 per person flight hour. Usage
of MyJets
aircraft operating on multiple round trips on a frequent daily basis
between specific city depends on the ownership share, and corresponding
passenger flight hour entitlement a company or individual purchases,
explained MyJets
Inc. President Marcel R. Georgi recently. As
an example, a company or individual that purchases a $ 40,000.00 ownership share
of one aircraft is entitled to 100 passenger hours per year. Any MyJets
owners' executives, employees or guests may use these hours, always at the
same fixed price per passenger flight hour, on any MyJets aircraft operating
between any MyJets cities. The number of
hours is calculated for week use and as an additional value, MyJets
owners can also use MyJets
planes at a similarly priced rate for evenings flights or family week-end
trips to favorite get-aways, based on a first come basis. Owners
and their guests may travel one at a time, or with up to 5 passengers,
always for the same low fixed cost per passenger flight hour.
MyJets Inc. is developping a
network of connections between over 5000 small airports in the U.S. to
take advantage of the efficiency and low costs of operation of small
planes. "The
savings are significant," Georgi says. “MyJets
combined costs beat domestic commercial airline coach class fares.
Currently, the net cost per hour on a smaller corporate jet such as a
Citationjet is approximately $1,700, regardless of how many people are on
the aircraft. Whether there is one, two or even 7 people flying, this
becomes a very expensive flight. MyJets's low cost per passenger
flight hour is fixed regardless of how many people are on the aircraft.” "
Any employee earning over $50,000/year must fly MyJets,
because it is financially justified.” Georgi says and he goes on to
demonstrate that the time saved in one typical example justifies the added
cost compared to the airline. MyJets claims that for a flight
between Los Angeles and The San Francisco Bay Area, the gain in time can
be up to 8 hours per round trip. Each
aircraft, with a range of 1,300 miles nonstop, will include Internet
connectivity and telephones at every seat. A very well documented page on the web site explains and answers many questions potential owners might have about safety.
