Marcel R. Georgi

Marcel Georgi has over 30 years experience in general management of multimillion-dollar multinational companies in start-up, growth, and turn-around situations.  He graduated Suma Cum Laude from the French Air Force Academy, holds an M.S. in Electronic Engineering and an M.B.A. in business economics.

After serving in the French Air Force, responsible for advanced Electronic Intelligence (I.F.F.), Mr. Georgi joined Thomson-Csf, as project manager, designing and developing the first digital Frequency Modulation sonar used in the French Nuclear Submarine.

In 1969, Mr. Georgi joined Texas Instruments in Paris in the Industrial Marketing division, before relocating to the European Headquarters, where he directed the High Reliability Program for the European Space Project. His redefinition of the strategies helped Texas Instruments replace Motorola as the largest supplier of High Reliability components in Europe.

In 1974, Mr. Georgi left Texas Instruments with the Vice-President of T.I. Europe, to found Acoustic 3A International, a manufacturer of advanced electronic loudspeakers. The company grew to a ten million dollar a year multinational corporation with factories in France and Italy and fully owned subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, Sweden, Canada, U.S.A. and Japan, and distributors in 25 countries. The main product of the company was rated second best in the world by the US “Consumer Guide” in 1978.

Mr. Georgi sold his position in 3A in 1981 to become the pivotal force behind the astonishing rise of the KIS Corporation as the world leader in 1 Hour photo processing.  During Mr. Georgi’s tenure, the KIS Corporation went from a start-up position to a $124 million leader with 70% of the total US market in 1 Hour photo and over 10,000 stores in 1984.

Appointed Chairman of the KIS Holding in Italy, Mr. Georgi reorganized the European holding to a high level of profitability until 1987, when he returned to the U.S.A.

In 1987, Mr. Georgi decided to take advantage of the incredible financial boom by creating CMG Investment to finance start-ups and existing companies in the marketing and management of privatized public phones.

In 1990, Mr. Georgi purchased a leading French company in laser manufacturing for the military market.  During the next years, he developed one of the world’s most advanced research groups in laser technology. He redefined the core business of the company into manufacturing the unique postscript plate-printing machine. This equipment became the base product for precise digital imaging to the US Geological Service, the Boeing Corporation and many Navies around the world.  In 1993, he was one of the first to provide upgrades and remote service through the Internet.

In 1994, Mr. Georgi sold his company to the leading multinational graphics corporation and started the second version of CMG Investments, where he acted as an advisor to a closed group of major individual investors and private companies. He served as a consultant to various corporations in strategic positioning, turnaround, management, development and presentation of complete financial packages and e-commerce solutions.

As of the beginning of the new millennium, his funds enjoyed a return of more than 884% over five years.

Mr. Georgi has worked successfully in various places around the world including Paris, London, Milan, Montreal, Tokyo and San Francisco, before establishing residence in Los Angeles.

Mr. Georgi holds US, French and Canadian citizenships.  He is also an avid in-line skater, a competitive snow skier and a commercial pilot, with jet ratings and flying experience all over the world.
